Brigg Masons News

The fresh officers team got off to a flying start by initiating new member Tony in front of a packed house at Brigg. Tony then had the full Ancholme experience at the meal with songs, speeches and plenty of laughing! The smiles in the picture say it all!

We rolled out two newly minted Standard Bearers at the last meeting of the masonic season! Brigg Freemasons were pleased to see David Hirst and Adrian Joyce showing off their new outfits. We’re sure you’ll agree that they did Lincolnshire Freemasons and United Grand Lodge of England proud!

Ancholme was very proud to see one of our members promoted at Lincolnshire Freemasons annual meeting! David Hirst (left) is now a fully fledged standard bearer for the whole of the county. Well done David!

It was all smiles at the Installation meeting of Ancholme Lodge in Brigg! Lincolnshire Freemasons was represented by David Bird who clearly enjoyed himself in the company of 70 friends and members who had filled the building to see Dave Harness install Dave Stiff as his successor as Master of the Lodge. The new master has a clear message for all assembled: “Don’t hold back, get involved!”

Ancholme Lodge visited en masse to St Lawrence in Scunthorpe to reaffirm our links. They are our daughter lodge it’s great to see how successful they are – an exemplary meeting and wonderful meal with great friends. Fraternal visiting is a great way of making trips easy!

A full house in our cosy Lodge tonight

We love visitors at Brigg, so were doubly gifted at our last meeting with visits from the Lincolnshire Freemasons Senior Grand Warden, as well as the members of Temple Bellwood Lodge. They all came along to see Pavel become a Fellowcraft, followed by bangers and mash!

A Christmas Cracker at Ancholme Chapter saw the 2nd Provincial Grand Principal witnessing our newest member, Andy, join the Chapter. For many attending , it was the first Turkey Dinner of the season, but definitely not the last! As always, lots of joy both in the Chapter Room and at the meal.

The Brigg lodges were very proud to support Bosom Family Support, a group that supports individuals affected by cancer. We hope that our donation can help more families to access services such as the support groups, counselling, holistic therapies and meal deliveries.
